Vendor: Kolbe Windows
Product: Aluminum Clad Wood Windows & Doors
Location: Wausau Wisconsin
The chronicle of Kolbe & Kolbe Millwork is more than a
business success story, it is family history. Brothers
Herb & Ervin Kolbe were born just before the Great
Depression. They were children during the stock market
crash of 1929, and endured the hardships of the decade
that followed. Still, they shared a rich and full
childhood. Their work ethic was built during their days on
the family dairy farm.
Kolbe & Kolbe Millwork Co., Inc. was founded by two
hard-working men full of ideas and integrity. One was my
father, Herb, and the other was my uncle, Ervin. This
company is the manifestation of their post-WWII dreams.
They had a vision, a mission, and built on it with a
careful sense of responsibility to customers, the
community, and the employees.
We, the executives and employees at Kolbe, forge ahead
without Herb & Ervin – yet we carry them in mind and
heart. We are dedicated to their vision. I invite you to
go beyond the products to learn the colorful history,
mission, and more about our vibrant company.

revolutionary composite made of wood fiber, reclaimed from
Andersen manufacturing, and vinyl. Among its features
